For Us

Help us make the

Difference

Many thanks for looking at our volunteering page … we’d love to have you as part of our team.

Here’s a quick overview of our roles – just choose the one that suits you best. We’re open from 9.30am to 2.30pm so it’s ideal if you have children at school.

We need people to sort and fold clothes, pick and pack them to go out to families, drivers to pick up and deliver the donations, people to help out in our charity shop and Uniform Exchange ambassadors to spread the message.

If you want to come in to help for the odd day now and then the ideal roles are:

  • Emptying donation bags and sorting through them
  • Checking each item for quality
  • Folding and tagging clothes
  • Tidying and putting items on the shelves
  • Cleaning shoes
  • Bagging up coats

If you can give us time by volunteering regularly then we can train you in stock control along with picking and packing items to send out.

Please get in touch to arrange a convenient time for you to come and visit us … it’d be great to meet you.

Drivers Needed

Drivers are also needed to collect and deliver school uniform across Kirklees. We’re really flexible so can keep routes as small or as large as you want and any help would be great, even if it’s just once a fortnight.

If you’re driving our van you’ll receive £4.50 a day for lunch. If you want to use your own vehicle we’ll pay you 45p per mile.

The essential requirements to drive our van are:

  • Full driving licence
  • Aged over 25
  • Able to use a sat nav
  • Can lift and carry bags weighing up to 8kg.

We have a driving volunteer WhatsApp group which you’re welcome to join. If we have a one-off collection to make we let the group know and a driver claims the collection, then collects and brings the donations into the warehouse in Lockwood. Collections can be from schools, libraries and shops throughout Kirklees.
